Because it is a small island, Marrowstone is more environmentally sensitive. The aquifer recharge is limited and the impact on groundwater and wildlife needs to be considered. Many Marrowstone residents still use their wells. What safeguards are in place to deal with wastewater runoff, light pollution, pesticides and strong odors beyond the property boundaries? What recourse is available should any violations occur? Public records show that the Applicant has several violations at other properties he owns. An industrial operation on this scale is incompatible with this quiet rural residential community. I respectfully request that the issuance of a permit for this use be denied.
