Box 1220 , 'H s w k " Port Townsend, WA 98368 Dear Ms. Kler, My wife and I are stridently opposed to the proposed marijuana growing and processing industry at the North end of Marrowsone Island. We are longtime members of the Marrowstone Community, our families, the Scott Cassill's, and the Luthard Stavney's and Gerhard Stavney's, having lived here since the 70's. First, the location near the Fort is unfathomable. How long do you think this could be kept secret from campers?! Just think of what it would do in the matter of parking, bottlenecking roads, and "night time excursions" on the part of"users" when it is learned. WOWEE!! Is there a permanent sheriff's representative on duty 24/7 to maintain order and safety? Can't think of anything much worse. We already have speeding and safety concerns with camping vehicles, cars, and bikers. In addition, current property values, including large numbers of waterfronts, will be reduced. Wouldn't that be detrimental to the County's tax Base? The Marrowstone Island Community Development Plan approved by the County Commissioners in 1978 states clearly that the proposed Production and Processing Facility, an industrial business, does not meet the criteria listed on page 18 of the plan. With the exception of the Nordland Sltore and Post Office, we are a community of"cottage industries" only. That has worked. We have our differences, one from the other, but manage to live together peaceably. I view the industry proposed will cause only conflict. Sincerely, Scott H.
