Strategic Plan for March 2014, which is the current plan that was revised in 2015 and
2016.
4. Revise this document re. DBHR requirements.
5. Each coalition member needs to familiarize him/herself with the Plan. It was suggested
that each member read the entire document by the next meeting, April 12th.
6. For example, the revisions will determine what the coalition wants for the following 2017
– 2019 grant period. Which programs do we want to implement in the school and in the
community. It has been determined that the programs in the schools shouldn’t take away
from teaching time and add additional burdens to the teachers schedules. One
suggestion for a school management program The “PAX Good Behavior” Game, which
doesn’t take away from academic instruction time. As well, its cost benefit, according to
the Surgeon General’s Report on Alcohol, Drugs, and Health: A Focus on Prevention is
$64.18 per student; that is, $64.18 is saved per student re. what addiction costs all
citizens. Perhaps we present this to the Chimacum Primary, Elementary, and Middle
School administration and, if the school district is amenable to the idea of implementing,
budget funds for two coalition members to attend training during 2017-8 semester. Bring
in trainers the following semester, Winter/Spring. Implement in the District the following
school year ( 2018-9). http://goodbehaviorgame.org/about
PAX Good Behavior Game for more information. There are several youtube videos that
illustrate the evidence-based program in action.
7. We decided that EVERYONE needs to read the Strategic Plan. In order to catch up on
the work of revision, we decided to divide up the document for review with each group of
members
The April 12th meeting of the Chimacum Prevention Coalition will be held at the Jefferson
