HomeMy WebLinkAbout34 Don Corbett Nancy McGonagle 35 Lip Lip Lane Nordland, WA 98358 To whom it may concern: We are full-time retired residents of Marrowstone Island, who moved here from the Midwest when we retired in 2007. After traveling the West Coast for several years, we chose Marrowstone for its quiet beauty and the close knit rural community of Nordland. We have very serious concerns about the proposed production and processing of recreational marijuana on Marrowstone. There are many reasons that we feel this is not appropriate for this Island. A major one is our concerns about the potential adverse environmental impact of the proposed operation. We are concerned about chemicals that might be used in the growing operation and how they would be disposed. Of course those that are applied to the soil will seep into the ground and into the water supply that many of us still use. And how will other toxic waste be disposed of? There are many other reasons which, we expect, have been presented. Have you considered whether the operation will impact Fort Flagler? Currently it is one of the more robust (financially) state parks in Washington State. I wonder if that will change. Please investigate further the total potential impact of the proposed operation to this small Island. Thank you, Don Corbett Nancy McGonagle 35 Lip Lip Lane Nordland, WA 98358 To whom it may concern: We are full-time retired residents of Marrowstone Island, who moved here from the Midwest when we retired in 2007.
