Approval of Agenda – Dave Stanko/Mike Evans/ All. II. Introductions SAAB members, staff and guests introduced themselves to each other. Guests stated their interest in attending the SAAB meeting. III. Approval of the January, 2016 minutes. Kathleen Kler/Mike Evans/All IV. Public Comments/From the Floor/Announcements Steve Workman requested the SAAB encourage the Sheriff’s Department to start using Narcan (Naloxone) when dealing with individuals who have overdosed on heroin-opiates. Sheriff Stanko explained the Sheriff’s Department is looking into this and exploring the protocols that would need to be in place before his deputies could start using Narcan. Julia announced the Health Department has received doses of Narcan from the state, nurses have been trained and protocols for Health Department Nurses have been established. The Narcan is available to people (family members, friends, etc.) who are dealing with individuals at risk for overdose. Kees Kolff would like the support of the SAAB in using Suboxone for individuals addicted to opiates. On Feb. 17, 2016 Dr. Tom Locke will be doing a presentation to the Hospital Commissioners. SAAB members are welcome to attend. V. Provider Reports Prevention Kelly Chimacum Prevention Coalition (CPC) Activities  CPC is sponsoring Parenting Wisely, an evidence-based online parenting class. It is ready for parents to start. If you know of parents who are interested, please give them one of the Parenting Wisely flyers and/or have them contact Julia Danskin at 360-385- 9420 or jdanskin@co.jefferson.wa.us. The goal is that 25 families will take the course from January - June 2016 and another 25 from July 2016 - Dec. 2016. There is a required pre and posttest. Once a parent/caregiver completes the online class and takes the posttest, we will have a $20 gift card for them. 2 APPROVED March 8th, 2016  The winter series for Strengthening Families sessions will start on Thursday, February 4 and go through March 17, 2016. Six families are registered.  CPC’s winter Public Awareness campaign is: 1. Monday, March 7, 2016. Monica Olsson will present Second Hand Hangover. Topic: Monica was one of three high school girls who made a short film about coming from a chemically addicted family. She presents the film, Second Hand Hangover, and she talks about the protective factors that helped her lead a very successful and productive live without alcohol or drugs. Flyer is attached. 2. Monday, May 2, 2016. Youth and Adult Panel Presentation on the National Network Conference. Topic: Youth and adults who will be attending the National Prevention Network from November 16th through 19th will be discussing the conference and any prevention activities or strategies that have been implemented as a result of the conference.  All SAAB members are invited to attend the next Chimacum Prevention Coalition meeting. The specifics are: When: Wednesday, February 10, 2016 4:00 to 5:30 pm Where: The Chimacum High School Library. Public Health Julia Julia will be the contact while Kelly Matlock is out through March, 2016. County Drug & Alcohol Coordinator Ford Ford reported work continues on the transition to the BHO and the Community Health Improvement plan. Mental Health Adam No Report. VI. Sheriff/Police Report Dave Stanko reported the Jail medical changes are coming along nicely. Olympia is currently working on suspending inmates Medicaid rather than terminating it while they are incarcerated. Ford is meeting with Steve Richmond to reinstate the jail Relapse Prevention Group (RPG). VII. New Business Anders Edgerton, RSN Administrator presented information on the transition to the Salish Behavioral Health Organization (SBHO). Information included a SBHO profile, SBHO organization chart, funding sources, Provider contacts, Provider Network, Service description, and Health Care Reform.
