HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-17-17 PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of comments made by individuals in attendance at the meeting and reflect their personal opinions: • Two individuals commented on the Democratic Party; • Four individuals commented on Jefferson County’s permitting department; • An individual invited the Commissioners to attend a private meeting where one of the topics is housing; • Two individuals commented on sewer projects in Jefferson County; • Five individuals commented on the housing crisis in Jefferson County and the proposed Home Opportunity Fund levy; and • An individual: 1) Thanked County employees for helping to make the Chimacum Interdependence Day Celebration a success; 2) Commented on the need for public bathrooms and showers for sanitary reasons; and 3) Stated that the Sheriff’s request for more deputies should be a separate issue from the housing crisis issue. CONSENT AGENDA: The Board unanimously approved the items on the consent agenda as presented: RESOLUTION NO. 32-17 re: In the Matter of Finding and Determination to Declare Certain Personal Property as Surplus and Authorize Disposal 3 AGREEMENTS: 1) 2017/18 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Services Grant; Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP); 2) Addendum No. 1 re: Data Use to clarify HIPAA required elements; Michigan Public Health Institute; and 3) Change Order No. 1 re: Teal Lake Road Overlay, M.P. 0.01 to M.P. 0.54, Project No. 18020270, County Road No. 505309; Lakeside Industries, Inc. REJECT BID AWARD re: Quilcene Solid Waste Drop Box Site Improvements, Project No. 401 594 1984; Jefferson County Public Works Payment of Jefferson County Vouchers/Warrants Dated July 10, 2017 Totaling $568,306.39 Payment of Jefferson County A/P Warrants Done by Payroll Dated July 6, 2017 Totaling $140,332.58 COMMISSIONERS’ BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners reported on their recent meetings, miscellaneous items and calendar coordination. HEARING: After listening to a presentation by the Central Services Director Department and hearing no comments for or against, the Commissioners adopted RESOLUTION NO. 33-17 re: 2nd Quarter Budget Appropriations/Extensions for Various County Departments. DONATION: The Commissioners listened to a presentation by the Peninsula Trails Coalition (PTC) President Jeff Bohman on the activities and goals of the PTC. Mr. Bohman presented a donation to the County, on behalf of the PTC, in the amount of $10,000 for construction costs for the Olympic Discovery Trail Project; South Discovery Bay, Segment A. BRIEFING: Central Services Director and the Jefferson County Budget Consultant briefed the Board on a draft resolution for Establishing Objectives and Procedures for the 2018 County Budget and reviewed the 2018 Five Year Budget Projection. COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR BRIEFING: The Board discussed various topics with the County Administrator. Board’s Official Business Highlights from Monday’s Commissioner Meeting July 18, 2017 The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) will be holding a Special Meeting to conduct a Hearing on the Potential Home Opportunity Fund Levy on July 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. in the Superior Courtroom. The Regular Meeting on July 24, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. will still be held. Deliberations on the hearing will be held at a Special Meeting on July 31, 2017 in the BOCC Chambers at 9:00 a.m.
