a few cents to the good (though the rounding off in the Excel program made to balance
look as if we were a few cents short). Miriam moved to approve the financial report.
Frances seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Financial Report - January, 2010
Diane requested that TCC support the Olympic Culinary Loop for $5,000 rather than the
$3,000 originally budgeted last month. Discussion about various ways to accomplish
that end. Miriam made a motion to move $2,000 from the Spring Campaign to the
Olympic Culinary Loop project. Bill seconded. Motion passed unanimously.

PT-LTAC Update - Christina
Will be having the first quarterly meeting and will be giving a work plan. Have been
doing a lot of PR to get newspaper articles out. She is continuing to target Vancouver
residents. And is looking at ways to do web reservations. Social media continues to be
big. She is working to get good photos.
LTAC Funding - Possible Regulation Changes - Diane
Washington Association of Cities, joined by Washington Counties, is requesting that
LTAC funding uses be expanded to include other uses, such as police
protection.Discussion about what “other uses” means and what would happen if the
tourism funding is reduced. We need to request that part of HB 2650 be removed and
that Tourism funding continue to be used in full to promote tourism.
The state is considering expanding the Washington State Convention Center.
Bill suggested that TCC form a letter to say that we do not support House Bill 2650.
Chuck suggested sending the letter to the City Council, as well. Joy stated that this
expansion of the LTAC Fund uses was too “broad brushed.”
Bill made a motion to contact appropriate legislators, and anyone else we deem
appropriate, to state our opposition to the expansion of uses of LTAC funds under
House Bill 2650. Discussion. Lisa seconded. Motion passed unanimously.
Diane announced that Tourism Day will be February 9, which is the same day as our
next scheduled TCC meeting. Discussion about changing our meeting date. It was
decided that our next TCC meeting will be rescheduled for February 16.
Pad Map - Bill
Bill suggested:
1. Shortening the map at the top of Dabob Bay in order to be able to include
more of the south part of the county;
2. Lining up icons in tight places, for example, next to Point Wilson Light House;
3. Adding lodging guide;
4. If we would like to add the lodging guide, there is still room on the side for
fishing and golf, etc;
5. Making descriptions of lakes more brief.
Chuck suggested continuing to list the marinas. There was general agreement with that.
Discussion about the most important things to include in the Pad Map. Chuck suggested
adding a couple of hot dive spots. Some are already listed on the front of the map with
icons.
Discussion about motorcycling, bicycling, car touring. Bill will contact David McCulloch
re: bicycling.
It was determined that there were several boat launches that are not on the map.
Frances asked about including the Larry Scott trail extension. Joy suggested using
quadrants so viewers can find a particular site more easily, such as “A4, or E6.”
It was determined to take out the words “Olympic Peninsula” on the lodging and RV
guides. We will include Lodgings, RV/Camp Guide, Marinas, Golf.
Action Item:
Each VC needs to check over their website addresses on the Pad Map.
Each Board Member will get information on changes to the Pad Map to Bill ASAP.
