Fund 270 – Public Records $150,000 settlement  Other Funds Rose Ann Department reports Dept reps Over Budget Discussions: 1. Fund 106 – items incorrectly coded and will balance later on 2. Fund 148 – Homeless & Affordable Housing have appropriations scheduled for 2nd quarter. Homeless shelter went from winter only to year around and is using unencumbered cash to fund. Revenue Reports Rose Ann Notes furnished by Stacie:  General Fund at $8,203,268 – 45.5% of the 2017 annual budget which is slightly higher than previous years. Private harvest tax is down from the last three years – 6% down from last year and approximately 50% down from 2015 and 2014.  Other Funds at $13,388,207 – 42.6% of 2017 budget which is slightly higher than the past two years.  General Fund Cash Balance - $5,455,638 which includes the $2.59 million budgeted and required reserve. This is in line with our typical pattern over the last nine years.  General Sales Tax Receipts - $328,312 which includes $78,716 for Special Purpose in May 2017 which for the year is 7.68% higher for sales tax and 6.19% over for Special Purpose. Cumulatively, sales tax revenues were 11.4% over projection for the month and 7.3% over projections for year to date.  REET Receipts - $111,101 in May and 38% over budget for the month and 2% over this month last year. Eight single family residences sold for more than $500,000. Five homes were in Port Ludlow, one each in Quilcene, Chimacum and unincorporated Port Townsend. 477 Acres of vacant land on the West End sold from the Nature Conservancy to DNR for $950,000, and the Four Corners ministorage facility sold for $1.475 million. 39% of REET collected this month was in the City of Port Townsend compared to 32% last month.  Hotel/Motel Lodging Tax - $45,943 in May which is 55% over this month last year and 75% over budget. This month was pretty impressive! Jeff, the Assessor, discussed Timber Harvest Tax, the impact on the county next year, and will look into why it’s down and report back to the committee. He also gave an update on assessing properties and how it will affect REET. Philip, County Administrator, pointed out that although tourism is currently showing increase, the closures of highways may have an impact later this year. Budget Anne / Philip WA State Legislature Annual budget has not been adopted yet. If not adopted by 6/30/17, there will be a partial shutdown that will impact the flow of grant monies. Greatest impact may be felt by JC Public Health and Veronica reported that they are taking measures to prepare and communicating possible impact. Kathleen also mentioned that if this happens, state parks will be closed Saturday, 7/1/2017. 2018 Budget Considerations DRS has released new PERS contribution rates, increase of 1.5%. Philip suggested that there should be a low expectation for any increases in the budget. There are seven collective bargaining agreements due next year. Veronica expressed concern if USCW agreement isn’t approved by 1/1/2018. Rose Ann confirmed that 2018 Salary Schedules will be available by 7/15/2017.
