PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: The following is a summary of
comments made by individuals in attendance at the meeting
and reflect their personal opinions:
• Four individuals commented on the activities of Security
Services Northwest;
• An individual: 1) Commented on a previous comment by
stating that anyone can record the Board of County
Commissioners’ meetings as it is an open public meeting; and
2) Urged the County to look into having an intern program; and
• An individual thanked Sheriff Chief Criminal Deputy Art Frank,
Deputy Jason Avery and Deputy Charlie McCarty for saving the
life of he and his wife.
CONSENT AGENDA: The Board unanimously approved the
items on the consent agenda as presented:
CALL FOR BIDS re: Transfer Station Crane; Bids Accepted Until
9:30 a.m. and Opened and Read Publicly at 10:00 a.m., or
Shortly Thereafter on Monday, September 11, 2017 in the
Commissioners’ Chambers; Jefferson County Courthouse
RESOLUTION NO. 36-17 re: Finding and Determination to
Declare Certain Personal Property as Surplus and Authorize
Disposal (Valued Less Than $2,500)
7 AGREEMENTS: 1) Castle Hill Phone Maintenance; Stargate
Technologies, Inc.; 2) Courthouse Phone Maintenance;
Stargate Technologies, Inc.; 3) Sheriff's Office Phone
Maintenance; Stargate Technologies, Inc.; 4) Reimbursement
for Motor Fuel Supply; Jefferson County Fire District #4;
5) Reimbursement for Motor Fuel Supply; Quilcene School
District; 6) Establish and Proctor Corrections Sergeant
Examination; Public Safety Testing; and 7) Change Order Nos. 1
and 2 re: Rick Tollefson Memorial Trail, Phase I Project, County

APPROVAL of MINUTES: The Board approved the Regular
Meeting Minutes of June 19, 2017 as corrected and
June 26, 2017 as presented.
COMMISSIONERS’ BRIEFING SESSION: The Commissioners
reported on their recent meetings.
UPDATE: The Olympic Community Action Programs (OlyCAP)
Director briefed the Board on a mid-year update of OlyCAP
programs.
BRIEFING: The Sheriff and Chief Criminal Deputy briefed the
Board on a proposed Alarm Ordinance and Permit Fee.
COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR BRIEFING: The Board discussed
various topics and Calendar Coordination with the County
Administrator.
