Technical Memorandum
The Washington State Department of Natural Resources' Forest Practices Water Type Map
(Figure 2) shows a Type N stream flowing through the gulch in the middle of the property. An
effort was made to locate this stream during the site investigation, but no such stream is currently
present. The soils within the gulch and surrounding hillside largely consist of silty sand. These
well drained soils appear to allow potential stormwater runoff from the surrounding hillside to
quickly infiltrate. Ponding, sheet and channelized flow, water -stained leaves, and sediment
deposits were distinctly absent from the base of the gulch.
