Dear Sirs and Ladies,
I started this urgent letter hand-written, but my almost 89 years of aging has been salvaged by my straight-A wife of 23 years. So I plead for your positive consideration.
I’ve owned two waterfront properties (Marrowstone Island is an Island,) as I moved here in 1970. I started our recent public water campaign and we finished it with great aid from Joyce
Stavney Cassill, mentioned above.
We care greatly about our special community of one thousand people now and see no advantage in providing easy access to drugs here. NONE WHATSOEVER!
Pot, Weed, or Whaever marijuana is called, with easy access to the young people who are beginning their future use and progression to advanced drugs, is anything but desirable.
Insurance companies have profound actuarial information that justifies much higher cost of insurance for all drivers under 25 years of age. We don’t want our residents and the huge
quantity of visitors to our Island, to our Fort Flagler State Camping Park, and other bikers and tourists to avail themselves of our wonderful community.
We are rapidly growing in new homes and population. The roads in Jefferson County are approaching capacity. The roads are curvy, windey, and dark at night. Some roads are quite narrow.
The Washing State Patrol, local sheriffs and police are handling a lot of automobile accidents, law enforcement problems, as are the education folks.
I leave the remainder of the matters others will address.
The intelligent advocates who see the big picture have been opposing this matter.
Please know of this strident anti-majijuana feeling here and know that it will be continued in opposition until this subsides.
