Subject: Request for Solid Waste Advisory Committee member re-
appointment
Statement of Issue:
The City of Port Townsend seeks the re -appointment of Dave Zellar to the Solid Waste
Advisory Committee (SWAC). A letter of interest from Mr. Zellar is attached.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's and Con's:
The City of Port Townsend has opted to participate in the Solid Waste Management
Plan so that it includes the City's solid waste management program pursuant to RCW
70.95.080. Representation of the City of Port Townsend on the County Solid Waste
Advisory Committee is a cornerstone of cooperation between City and County solid
waste programs.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Local SWAC is mandated by RCW 70.95.165(3) and costs associated with SWAC
functions, are budgeted for in the 2017 Solid Waste Budget.
