Subject: Request for Solid Waste Advisory Committee member re-
appointment
Statement of Issue:
Public Works seeks the re -appointment of Bart Kale to the Solid Waste Advisory
Committee (SWAC). Bart currently serves as a Citizen -at -Large. A letter of interest
from Mr. Kale is attached.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's and Con's:
Mr. Kale has brought a wealth of recycle industry knowledge to the SWAC as retired
Environmental officer of NUCOR Steel, Seattle, WA. Mr. Kale has been active on the
SWAC, and was readily voted as SWAC Chair by other SWAC members.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Local SWAC is mandated by RCW 70.95.165(3) and costs associated with SWAC
functions, are budgeted for in the 2017 Solid Waste Budget.
