Purpose of the meeting: Presentation Tobacco Karen Obermeyer; Discussion of roles,
nominations for Executive Committee
Members present: Kris Becker, Bob Wicks, Richard Davies, Chris HoffmanHill, Mark Gudger,
Heather McRae Woolf, Stuart Whitfield, Michelle Kaster, Karen Obermeyer, Ciela Meyer.
Members excused: Ron McClung, Tanya Barnett, Brian MacKenzie, Pinky Feria Mingo, Dana
Nixon, Sarah Rogers.
Time/Facilitator Activity
3:00 – 3:05 Denise
Call meeting to order; approve minutes, and agenda. Kris
moved; Bob seconded. Motion carried
3:05 – 3:20 Karen
Karen Obermeyer gave a presentation on tobacco facts and
data, and prevention efforts in the County.
3:20 – 4:00 Denise
Denise reported on the Drug Take Back event. The Coalition
took back 185 lbs. of prescription medication. This prompted
Kris to begin a discussion of members roles and activities,
which prompted us to visit the Coalition Bylaws and led to
discussion to determine who is interested in being on the
Executive Committee, and what that entails. Mark said he and
Brian are interested in being on the executive committee.
ACTION ITEM for next Meeting: Study Action Plan and the
Budget. Come prepared to elect officers and let Coordinator
know what you’re interested in doing re. Action Plan. Dismiss.
Please Note: The December 13th, 2017 meeting of the Chimacum Prevention Coalition will be
held at the Chimacum High School Library from 3:00 – 4:00 PM.
