Unfortunately, it does appear there will be deep cuts that will impact viability of publicly- funded treatment. Discussions have continued and KPTZ is showing great interest in the series regarding youth substance abuse prevention, perhaps even taking further steps with the show and utilizing it as a platform for a regular radio show/segment going forward (tbd) b. Most likely will not be able to air a program before spring break in April, but will try to get a program on during the month of April (to also coincide with “Our Kids: Our Business”) c. Continue to work on finding the best panelists that will have a shared message consistent with SAAB’s message. Will most likely have a SAAB member as a panelist in each discussion to discuss effective (best-practice) prevention science as needed. d. KPTZ willing to look at ways to encourage an interesting community dialogue—perhaps having pod casts available, winding up the series with a “Q&A” show where people can email/call in/mail questions along the series for a panel to review 3. Communities That Care Project Workshop Report Anne The process continues with risk and protective factor assessment in March and resource assessment in April. A report will be compiled for the community highlighting the prioritized risk and protective factors and resources and shared prior to the community planning sessions in May. Press Release distribution ideas Fran/John a. As a board, how do we continually network and reach a broader audience? How do we share our messages with populations not normally reached or receptive to information about substance abuse (prevention-intervention-treatment-aftercare issues)? Please think of places where information, like John Austin’s press release, could be shared. VII. New Business Spit Tobacco “spread the word” efforts The information is being shared with both Port Townsend and Chimacum schools. Congratulations to Chase and family Welcome to the World Arya K.
