Mike Evans and Garin Williams with PT Police are presenting the 5th grade classes at Blue Heron for this May. Kelli Greenspane with the Sheriff’s Dept. facilitated the classes at Chimacum Middle School in January and February. Mental Health Sam Sam reported that MH had received very minor cuts in the State budget as they were “nothing” compared to what had been projected. MH court is proceeding and Sam reports the Judges are very “enthusiastic.” MH court is currently in a training phase. Grant monies from the Bureau of Justice Administration are being used for this training. Sam feels that all components are basically in place to proceed with a MH court. The concept of MH court is similar to the Drug Court agreement to participate in treatment. Mike Phimister would like to invite a NAMI member to speak to the SAAB members.
