I. Approval of Agenda –Agenda could not be approved as there was not a quorum
present.

III. Approval of the July, 2012 SAAB meeting minutes. Minutes could not be approved as
there was not a quorum present

V. Provider Reports
Prevention Anne
Anne provided hand outs on I-502 and information about the Marijuana Policy Summit
she attended on July 30, 2012.

Youth Report Coleman
Coleman stated he had started a new project for the Boy Scouts and would like to do a
short presentation about it to the SAAB at the next meeting. Fran stated he would be put
on the agenda.

VI. Old Business
1. Jail Relapse Prevention program Fran
Fran reported the Jail Relapse Prevention is back up and running with 8 – 12
participants.
2. Communities That Care Project Workshop Report Anne
Next meeting is scheduled for tomorrow, August 15, 2012. There will be a full report
next month.
3. Drug Take Back Outreach Project Kay/Mike
Fran reported that 19 lbs, 6 oz of prescription medication was turned into the
Police Station drop box in July.
Fran reported the Sheriff’s Department took in 28 pounds in July.
Hargopal reported that KPTZ is reducing the length of time for public service
announcements. Hargopal is looking for ways to reduce the current PSA from
30 seconds to 20 seconds. Hargopal emailed after the meeting to say KPTZ
would be airing the PSA as is.
Catharine reported the drug take back inserts are slated to be included with
the October water bills.
Anne reported the next National Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for
September 29, 2012 and will be at Safeway. Fran volunteered to help at the
event.
