turn left onto the Shine Road. Site will be on water in 0.6 miles to the west.

Indicate which activities are within the 100-year floodplain.
Geoduck seed will be planted inside of 4" diameter PVC tubes which will be placed in the substrate on private
tidelands. Tubes will be covered with mesh caps and only three to five inches will be exposed above substrate.
Planting will take place in late spring to mid-fall. Six to twelve months after planting the caps will be removed.
Once the caps have been removed area netting will be put down to contain tubes. 18 to 24 months after
planting, the tubes will be removed from the beach. Harvesting will begin between four and seven years after
planting. The total harvest window from harvested geoduck to final clean up is expected to be one year. Please
refer to the Biological Evaluation (BE)for in depth detail on planting, maintenance and harvest methods and
timing.

Throughout the planting period, all equipment will be transported to the site by water from a staging area.
Fueling of vessel(s) will be done at gas stations and never on the water. During this period, workers may be
brought to the site via water or access the site from the landowner's uplands. At a particular farm site, the vessel
and or barge) used to transport materials or people to the site will either be moored directly offshore of the site
not in eel grass beds) and/or grounded for a maximum of 5 hours during the low tide runs to accommodate the
various husbandry tasks associated with farming the beach (installation, planting, removal, and monitoring).
Prior to the removal of any caps, bands and /or netting a walk through survey will be conducted to determine if
herring are using the area to spawn. If herring are observed, the equipment will be left alone until there is no
presence (see B.E. for more detail).
