Juvenile oysters will be reared inside polyethylene grow-out oyster bags approximately 2'x4' in size. These will be clipped or strapped to rebar racks directly on the substrate on private tidelands. As the oysters grow and mature, they will be transferred to bags with larger mesh sizes. Final grow out bags will contain approximately 200 oysters per bag. Harvesting will occur during the summer months 1-3 years after initial planting depending on the growth rate of oysters at this site. Once oysters are harvested, grow-out bags and rebar racks will either be removed or replanted.
