HomeMy WebLinkAbout002 18C..(.- o(�--- I-,�,-(� STATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson In the Matter of Closing Out of Petty Cash Fund } For the Prosecuting Attorney } RESOLUTION NO. 02-18 WHEREAS, an existing petty cash fund in the amount of $25.00 was increased per Resolution 22-89 to $500.00 with said amount placed in a checking account under the control of the Prosecuting Attorney to cover immediately needed amounts that would be hindered by using the voucher process, and WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney has a county issued credit card and can use the voucher process in place with the Auditor's Office thus no longer necessitating maintenance of a petty cash account, and WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney's Office has requested the account be closed, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Commissioners hereby declares the Jefferson County Prosecuting Attorney Petty Cash Fund be balanced out as of January 31, 2018, as per the department's request, and the said $500.00 be returned to the Jefferson County Treasurer's Office to be deposited to the General Fund from which it came. ANALYSIS: The fund originally had an amount of $25.00 and was increased in 1989 per Resolution 22-89 to $500.00 to facilitate paying expenses that were hindered by the time needed to go through the voucher process. Other avenues of payment are available now. The Prosecuting Attorney's Office in consultation with the Auditor's Office has determined they no longer need a petty cash fund and account and would like to close it. FISCAL IMPACT: The fund balance of the account will return to the General Fund from which it came.
