TO: Jefferson County Board of Commissioners
THROUGH: Philip Morley, County Administrator
FROM: Stacie Prada, Treasurer
DATE: January 2, 2018
SUBJECT: RESOLUTION: In the Matter of Closing Out of Petty Cash Fund For the Prosecuting
Attorney
STATEMENT OF ISSUE: The Prosecuting Attorney's Office has determined they no longer need a
petty cash fund and account and would like to close it.
ANALYSIS: The fund originally had an amount of $25.00 and was increased in 1989 per Resolution
22-89 to $500.00 to facilitate paying expenses that were hindered by the time needed to go through the
voucher process. Other avenues of payment are available now. The Prosecuting Attorney's Office in
consultation with the Auditor's Office has determined they no longer need a petty cash fund and account
and would like to close it.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The fund balance of the account will return to the General Fund from which it came.
RECOMMENDATION:
Approve the resolution to close out the petty cash fund for the Prosecuting Attorney.
