Dear Mr. Causseaux,
At more than 10,000 square feet, the proposed structure is, ipso facto, in violation
of condition #17 of the revised Staff Recommendations, which states that “Any
new structure constructed to accommodate the cottage industry shall be limited in
scale so that it is in character with neighboring properties.” As previously stated in
my letter dated June 26, 2017, to my knowledge, there are no buildings on
Marrowstone Island that come close to approaching the scale of this structure,
both in terms of height and square footage. Neither staff or the applicant have
provided specifics to support the claim that “There are existing agricultural
structures of similar size in the surrounding area”.
