The new EMR system was purchased in fall 2012 and staff received training in December 2012, and began implementation. Throughout 2014 EMR increased efficiencies and reimbursement. However, there was an increase in staff hours due to the complexity of implementation. Changes with recommended female exam schedules, such as required PAPs, contributed to the total reduction of client numbers for the year. The team did outreach in all the classrooms, flyers posted around town, and ads in the paper. The team plans to continue outreach and will also enroll people in ACA. We have installed electronic patient portals for 2015. Family planning services in Quilcene were increased back to every Wednesday and a medical provider for family planning once month. JCPH continues our partnership with Jefferson Healthcare in operating two school clinics: Port Townsend High School and Chimacum High School. These clinics serve enrolled students seeking Mental Health, Family Planning, and primary care services. We strongly believe the clinics contribute to Jefferson County’s low teen pregnancy rate of 5.2, which is significantly lower that WA State teen pregnancy rate of 10.9. State and federal funding for BCHP was eliminated for 2015. Foot Care: The population of seniors over 85 years increased 99% from 1990 to 2000 and 38% from 200 to 2009. The JCPH Foot Care Program helps this population maintain independence and mobility by providing foot maintenance at community centers and in private homes. Foot Care services provide what clients can no longer perform for themselves, and helps them to remain mobile.
