HomeMy WebLinkAbout022618_ca13Department of Public Works O Consent Agenda Page 1 of 1 Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Agenda Request To: Board of Commissioners Philip Morley, County Administrator From: Monte Reinders, PE, Public Works Director/County Engine r f Agenda Date: February 26, 2018 Subject: Bid Award for 2018 through 2020 Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products Statement of Issue: Public Works staff has completed checking the bids opened on Monday, February 12, 2018 for the above contract, and finds it to be in the best interest of the County to award the Purchase Er Sale Agreement to Husky Marketing and Supply Company of Seattle, WA for the amounts specified in their bid proposal. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's £t Con's: This Bid Award is consistent with the County's goals in that it provides for maintenance of the County roads infrastructure. This product is used in the County's annual pavement surfacing and preservation programs. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: Purchase of this material is accounted for in the Road Operations Budgets for 2018 through 2020. The estimated amount for this three (3) year Purchase Er Sale Agreement is $972,750.00 plus Washington State Sales Tax; however, there is no guaranteed minimum order with the supplier. (This is a supply Agreement). Recommendation: The Board is asked to award the Purchase Ft Sale Agreement by signing and returning the attached Memorandum to Public Works for further processing. The Agreement will be submitted to the Board for final execution at a future date. Public Works Director/County Engineer To: Board of County Commissioners From: Monte Reinders, PE, Public Works Director/County Engineer Date: February 16, 2018 Subject: Recommendation for Award of a `Purchase & Sale Agreement' for the Supply of Liquid Asphalt Products for the 2018 through 2020 Bituminous Surfacing Treatment Programs. Public Works staff has completed examining the bids for the above agreement, which were publicly opened and read aloud in the Commissioners Chambers at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 12, 2018. Public Works finds it to be in the best interest of the County to award a Purchase & Sale Agreement for supply of this product in accordance with the General Contract Provisions to Husky Marketing and Supply Company of Seattle, WA, for the following unit bid prices, • CRS -2P: $385.00 per ton • CSS -1 (50% Dilute): $325.00 per ton • Freight on products: $ 75.00 per ton for • Demurrage fee: $100.00 per truck hour • Transport of returned product $ 25.00 per ton for an estimated value of $972,750.00, plus Washington State Sales Tax, over the next three (3) years. The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approves award of this bid to the above-named supplier.
