Subject: Bid Award for Supply of Aggregate for the County's Bituminous Surface
Treatment Program in Calendar Years 2018 and 2019.
Statement of Issue:
Public Works (PW) staff has completed checking the bids opened on February 26, 2018 for the
above material supply contract. PW staff finds it to be in the County's best interest to award
the Purchase Et Sale Agreement to Allen Shearer Trucking and Landscape Supply, Inc. of
Belfair, WA for the amount specified in their bid.
Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's:
This product is used in the County's pavement preservation program, and this Bid Award is
consistent with the County's goals in that it provides for maintenance of existing roadway
infrastructure.
Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis:
Purchase of this material is accounted for in the Road Operations 2018 budget and the 2019
budget forecast. The estimated contract amount over the two (2) year period is $266,500.00
plus Washington State Sales Tax; however, the County has guaranteed no minimum order for
this supplier.
Recommendation:
The Board is asked to award the Purchase Et Sale Agreement by signing the attached
Memorandum and returning it to Public Works for further processing prior to final execution
of the Agreement by the Board.

Subject: Recommendation for Award of Contract for Supply of Aggregate Products
Two (2) bid proposals for the above contract were publically opened and read aloud in the Commissioners
Chambers on Monday, February 26, 2018. Allen Shearer Trucking and Landscape Supply, Inc. of Belfair, WA
was the apparent low bidder.
Public Works staff has completed checking the bids and verifying the qualifications of the bidders for this two
(2) year contract to supply aggregate products for use in the County's Bituminous Surface Treatment programs
in calendar years 2018 & 2019.
Public Works finds it to be in the County's best interest to award the contract for supply of these materials to the
following supplier for the unit bid prices quoted in their Bid Proposal:
Allen Shearer Trucking and Landscape Supply, Inc.
The Jefferson County Board of Commissioners approves this Bid Award to the above supplier.
