RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

MEETING MINUTES
MEMBERS: Philip Morley, County Administrator/Risk Manager

Chair Erin Lundgren called the meeting to order at 10:35 a.m. in the presence of Members Ruth
Gordon, Philip Morley and Bob Hamlin and Legal Counsel David Alvarez.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Member Gordon moved to approve the minutes of October 6, 2015 as presented. Member
Morley seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
An Executive Session was scheduled from 10:35 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with the County
Administrator, Clerk of the Board, Chief Civil Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, Superior Court
Clerk, Emergency Management Director, and Executive Assistant/Claims Coordinator regarding
actual litigation. This exemption is outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act RCW
42.30.110(1)(i). The actual period of time the Committee met in Executive Session on this topic
was from 10:36 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
At the conclusion of the Executive Session the Committee resumed the regular meeting. No
action was taken.
NEW BUSINESS
DISCUSSION re: Replacement of Risk Management Committee Member Frank Gifford,
Central Services Director: The Committee discussed filling the Department Director vacancy
and concurred to table the matter to a later date.

UPDATE re: Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP) Fall Conference: Deputy
Prosecuting Attorney Alvarez stated he attended the Washington Counties Risk Pool (WCRP)
fall conference and he briefed the Committee on WCRP activities.
OLD BUSINESS
No old business was discussed.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT
Member Gordon moved to adjourn the meeting at 11:08 a.m. Member Hamlin seconded the
motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
