RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
January 11, 2012 - 9:30 a.m.

MEMBERS: Philip Morley, County Administrator/Risk Manager
Elizabeth Hill, Clerk of the Board/Risk Coordinator (Chair)
Judi Morris, Treasurer
Jean Baldwin, Public Health Director
Vacant, Safety Officer
LEGAL COUNSEL: David Alvarez, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney
RECORDER: Leslie Locke, Deputy Clerk of the Board
Chair Elizabeth Hill called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. in the presence of Member Judi
Morris, Member Jean Baldwin, and Member Philip Morley.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Member Morley moved to approve the minutes of December 14, 2011 as presented. Member
Morris seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Due to the excused absence of Legal Counsel, David Alvarez the scheduled Executive Session
was cancelled.
The following claim was discussed:
Claim No.: C-14-11
Claimant: Ruth Strazelecki
Damages: $6,000,000
Allegation: Emotional Duress, Theft & Damage of Personal Property
The Committee reviewed the details of this claim. No specific incident or persons were named
in the claim. No action was taken by the Committee.
Decision: Pending

NEW BUSINESS
Member Baldwin suggested changing the meeting date and time of the Risk Management
Committee. After discussion of individual schedules Member Baldwin moved to change the
meeting date from the second Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. to the second Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. of
every month. Member Morris seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote. A
notice will be published reflecting the change.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT
Member Morley moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:45 a.m. Member Baldwin seconded the
motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
