MINUTES

Chair Lorna Delaney called the meeting to order at 9:35 a.m. in the presence of Member David Alvarez
and Member Philip Morley.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Member Morley moved to approve the minutes of January 12, 2011 as presented. Member Alvarez
seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Committee met in Executive Session from 9:35 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. regarding potential litigation.
This exemption is outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act RCW 42.30.110(1)(i). At the conclusion
of the Executive Session the meeting was reconvened and the following claims were discussed:

Claimant: Nancy Steinberg
Damages: Unknown
Allegation: Bodily Injury
The Committee reviewed the details of this claim. An adjuster, assigned by the Washington Counties
Risk Pool is in the process of settling this claim. No action was taken by the Committee.
Decision: Settlement Pending
Claim No.: C-16-10
Claimant: Jordan Rich
Damages: $50,000
Allegation: Violation of Civil Rights
The Committee reviewed the details of this claim. The Washington Counties Risk Pool has assigned
outside legal counsel to handle this claim. No action was taken by the Committee.

Vehicle Damage/Bodily Injury
The Committee reviewed the details of this claim. An adjuster, assigned by the Washington Counties
Risk Pool is in the process of settling this claim. No action was taken by the Committee.
Decision: Settlement Pending
Member Alvarez informed the Board that he will be representing Jefferson County at the Risk Pool
meeting in March. Claim forms will be updated during the Risk Pool meeting. Member Alvarez will
provide a final draft of the Claim forms for BOCC approval. The new Risk Management Policy
established by the Committee will also be approved at that time.
A citizen made a complaint about the fee schedule for Public Health being out of compliance with
Washington State Law. Member Morley will meet with the citizen after obtaining more information
from Public Health on the methodology and history of setting fees.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT
Member Alvarez moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:55 a.m. Member Morley seconded the motion
which carried by a unanimous vote.
