RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
March 11, 2009 - 9:30 a.m.
MINUTES
MEMBERS: David Alvarez, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney

Chair Lorna Delaney called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. in the presence of Members David Alvarez and
Philip Morley.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Member Morley moved to approve the minutes of February 11, 2009 as presented. Member Alvarez seconded
the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Committee met in Executive Session from 9:31 to 9:35 a.m. regarding potential litigation. This exemption
is outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act RCW 42.30.110(1)(i). At the conclusion of the Executive Session
the meeting was reconvened and the following deliberations and actions were taken.

The Committee reviewed the facts relating to this claim. Internal investigation confirms the facts as presented
to the County by the claimant. Member Alvarez moved to recommend that claim #C-03-09 submitted by John
Lantz be paid in full in the amount of $460.70. Member Morley seconded the motion which carried by a
unanimous vote.

Damage to Vehicle/Windshield
The Committee reviewed the facts relating to this claim. County records indicate that no sanding operations
were being performed by the County personnel at the time and location where the claimant's vehicle was
allegedly damaged. Member Alvarez moved to deny payment of claim #C-04-09 submitted by Meg Amos in
the amount of $1,402.49. Member Morley seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
Decision: Deny Claim
DIRECTION TO THE CLERK/RECORDER
Member Alvarez moved to direct the Clerk to prepare the claim reports for signature regarding the decision
made on each claim and to send a letter notifying the claimants of the decisions. Member Morley seconded the
motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT
Member Alvarez moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:50 a.m. Member Morley seconded the motion which
carried by a unanimous vote.
