Chair Lorna Delaney called the meeting to order at 9:30 a.m. in the presence of Members David Alvarez and
Dennis Richards.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of April 9, 2008 were approved.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
The Committee met in Executive Session from 9:31 to 9:35 a.m. regarding potential litigation. This exemption
is outlined in the Open Public Meetings Act RCW 42.30.110(1)(i).
CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE DECISION
Claim No.: #C-05-08
Claimant: Rose Ann Olsen, c/o John L. Jarrett, Attorney at Law

Allegation: Bodily Injury
Member Alvarez made a motion to deny the claim for damages #C-05-08 submitted by Rose Ann Olsen.
Member Richards seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.

Member Alvarez made a motion to approve the claim for damages #C-08-08 submitted by Greg Mika. Member
Richards seconded the motion which carried by a unanimous vote.
Decision: Approved
DIRECTION TO THE CLERK/RECORDER
The Clerk was directed to prepare for signature, the claim reports regarding the decision made on each claim.
WASHINGTON COUNTIES RISK POOL CLAIM SETTLEMENT
Member Alvarez reported that the Washington Counties Risk Pool settled a physical injury claim (#C-12-07)
submitted by Shirley Crider. Ms. Crider was injured when she fell at the Jefferson County jail facility parking
lot. The Washington Counties Risk Pool settled the claim for $6,000.
