HomeMy WebLinkAboutM07022007RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES July 2, 2007 Present: David Alvarez, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Fischbach, County Administrator, Risk Manager Erin Lundgren, Claims Coordinator CLAIMS CLAIMANT: Puget Sound Energy CLAIM #: C-07-07 DAMAGES: $2,010.23 ALLEGATION: Damage to Electrical Facilities DISCUSSION: The facts relating to this claim were reviewed and it is determined that Jefferson County personnel caused the damages sustained. However, since an independent company contracted by Puget Sound Energy made the repairs, it is recommended that Jefferson County pay a reduced amount of $1,454.82 representing $2,010.23 less Puget Sound Energy's labor and overhead costs. DECISION: Pay a reduced amount of Claim CLAIMANT: CLAIM #: DAMAGES: ALLEGATION: Erik L. Hendricksen C-08-07 $229.54 Damage to Computer DISCUSSION: Upon reviewing the facts relating to this claim it is determined that Jefferson County was "in possession" of the computer equipment when it was damaged. Thus, it is recommended that this claim be paid in full. DECISION: Pay Claim Risk Management Committee Minutes - July 2, 2007 Page: 2 CLAIMANT: James Orvall Barrett CLAIM #: C-09-07 DAMAGES: $40,417.88 ALLEGATION: False Arrest and Use of Excessive Force DISCUSSION: Upon reviewing the facts relating to this claim it is determined that there was probable cause for the claimant's arrest and that the length or his subsequent incarceration was reasonable. Thus, this claim is denied. DECISION: Deny Claim Meeting adjourned.
