CLAIM #:
DAMAGES:
ALLEGATION:
Kathryn Minta
C-14-04
$291.16
Vehicle Damage
DISCUSSION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney reviewed this claim in light of further
conversations with the Claimant's supervisor and information provided. In order for
Jefferson County to be held responsible for damages, Jefferson County or its agents or
employees must be the `proximate' cause of the damage or injury incurred. The committee
could not find where Jefferson County (its employee or agents) was the causal agent to the
loss; rather it was the unnamed individual who may have perpetrated the damage. The
Claimant will be encouraged to follow-up with the Port Townsend Police Department to
identify and seek relief from the person who inflicted the damage.
DECISION: Deny claim
