ALLEGATION: Damage to Buried Service Wire.
DISCUSSION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney reviewed the above referenced claim
finding that it is the obligation of the claimant to bury its underground equipment to proper
depth standards.
DECISION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney recommend the claim be denied.

ALLEGATION: Vehicle Windshield Damage.
DISCUSSION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney reviewed the above referenced claim
finding that Jefferson County Public Works road crew personnel was not performing
maintenance in the area on the date or at the time the incident occurred. Additionally, the
claim states the incident occurred on a State highway (State Route 19/Beaver Valley Road),
therefore, the claimant will be directed to contact the State Department of Transportation
claims administration office.
DECISION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney recommend the claim be denied.

ALLEGATION: Vehicle Windshield Damage.
DISCUSSION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney reviewed the above referenced claim
finding that this incident occurred on a State highway which is maintained by the Washington
State Department of Transportation. Jefferson County personnel would not have been sanding
a State highway. Thus, the claimant will be directed to contact the State Department of
Transportation claims administration office.
DECISION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney recommend the claim be denied.
CLAIMANT: Olympus Beach Tracts, Inc.
CLAIM #: C-16-02
DAMAGES: $327.46
ALLEGATION: Damage to Water Line.
DISCUSSION: The claim referenced above was reviewed by the Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting
Attorney on October 11, 2002 with payment for a portion of the claim ($60.00, amount for
coupling) being recommended for approval. The claimant disputed payment for only a
portion of the claim and submitted additional documented evidence in support of the expenses
they incurred to repair the damages sustained. Based on the supplemental information
submitted by the claimant, it was agreed to provide reimbursement for labor costs as well.
(Previously, the claimant was awarded reimbursement only for the amount of the
materials/coupling. The amount above reflects only labor costs.)
