HomeMy WebLinkAboutM05122003RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES May 12, 2003 Present: David Alvarez, Deputy Prosecuting Attorney David Goldsmith, Risk Manager, County Administrator Erin Lundgren, Claims Coordinator CLAIMS CLAIMANT: LeRose Coulter CLAIM #: C-17-03 DAMAGES: Amount to be determined ALLEGATION: Physical injuries resulting from fall on pavement near disability parking lot along Cass Street entrance of Courthouse. DISCUSSION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecuting Attorney reviewed the above referenced claim and agreed to table action on this claim pending further investigation. DECISION: Pending CLAIMANT: Mary Mandell CLAIM #: C-14-03 DAMAGES: $150.00 ALLEGATION: Loss of 36" x 45" quilted wallhanging. DISCUSSION: Deputy Prosecutor David Alvarez excused himself from the meeting. For appearance of fairness reasons he will not be making a decision on this claim, as the claimant is an employee of the Prosecuting Attorney's office. The Risk Manager and Claims Coordinator reviewed the above referenced claim, finding that the claim should be paid since it was the Board of Commissioners who requested the quilts be hung on the walls of the Commissioners' Chamber (currently the first floor conference room), because it was felt that it would: 1) Reduce the sound reverberation caused by the high ceilings in the room; and 2) Allow local quilters the opportunity to display their work. DECISION: The Risk Manager and Claims Coordinator recommend the claim be paid. Meeting adjourned.
