'1,;15-'1'> ,-~'-p.S~ ;I,D ST ATE OF WASHINGTON County of Jefferson IN THE MA TIER OF AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING THE JEFFERSON COUNTY INTERIM CRITICAL AREAS ORDINANCE BY EXTENDING THE SUNSET PROVISION OF SECTION 13060 FINDINGS ORDINANCE NO. 05-0424-95 The Jefferson County Board of County Commissioners enters the following findings: 1. On August 22, 1994, the Board of Commissioners amended Ordinance No. 05-0509-94, the Jefferson County Interim Critical Areas Ordinance, by establishing a sunset clause for the purpose of reviewing certain elements of the ordinanceo The new ordinance section 13060, established a repealing date of December 31, 1994 unless the ordinance is otherwise amended, A consulting firm was hired to review certain sections of Ordinance No. 05- 0509-94 and facilitate a public process to recommend substantive changes as deemed appropriate 0 Section 13.60 of the Jefferson County Interim Critical Areas Ordinance was amended by Ordinance No. 19-1227-94, extending the repealing date to March 1, 1995 and by Ordinance Noo 4-0228-95, extending the repealing date to April 24, 19950 The public review and ordinance language production process required under the Growth Management Act (RCW 36070A) is still ongoing and will not be complete by April 24, 19950 20 3. 4. 5. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners as follows: Section 13.60 of the Jefferson County Interim Critical Areas Ordinance is hereby amended to read: This Ordinance shall remain in effect until the 22nd day of May 1995, or until such date as an amended Critical Areas Ordinance repealing the Ordinance becomes effective, which ever occurs sooner. Effective Date: This Ordinance is necessary for the ~ediate preservation of the public peace, health, and safety and shall become effective on i+) day of April, 19950 1 ,VOL 21 rAG~ 45E '- 'r Ordinance Noo 05-0424-95 Severability: If any portion of this Ordinance is held invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate portion of this Ordinance and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this Ordinanceo Adoption: Adopted by the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners this ~4.;J- day of April, 1995. .
