HomeMy WebLinkAboutM01292001 RISK MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MINUTES January 29, 2001 Deputy Prosecutor David Alvarez and Risk Manager David Goldsmith reviewed the following claims for damages. Claims Coordinator Erin Lundgren was also present. CLAIMS CLAIMANT: Mike Vanderwal CLAIM#: C-29-00 DAMAGES: $1,041.28 ALLEGATION: Damaged Vehicle DISCUSSION: The Risk Manager reviewed the claim referenced above. He stated that this claim was forwarded to the Washington Counties Risk Pool for handling. The damage to the claimant's vehicle was the result of an accident involving an employee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The Deputy Prosecutor and Risk Manager agreed that the claim should be paid. DECISION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecutor will recommend to the County Administrator that the full amount of the claim be paid. CLAIMANT: Steve Rath CLAIM#: C-1-01 DAMAGES: $520.36 ALLEGATION: Damaged Vehicle DISCUSSION: The Risk Manager reviewed the claim referenced above. He stated that according to the Public Works Department the water main cap which caused the damage to the vehicle is maintained by the City of Port Townsend and is the responsibility of the City as the franchise holder for this utility. The Deputy Prosecutor and Risk Manager agreed that the claim should be denied and forwarded to the City of Port Townsend. DECISION: The Risk Manager and Deputy Prosecutor will recommend to the County Administrator that the claim be denied. Meeting adjourned.
