Deputy Prosecutor David Alvarez and Risk Manager David Goldsmith reviewed the following claims for damages.
Claims Coordinator Erin Lundgren was also present.
CLAIMS
CLAIMANT: Puget Sound Energy
CLAIM#: C-30-00
DAMAGES: $9,280.19
ALLEGATION: Damaged Power Pole
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith reported that he sent a second letter to Puget Sound Energy
on February 22, 2001 again requesting additional information in support of their claim for
damages. A response was received by Puget Sound Energy dated February 27, 2001. In their
response they claim that Sprint owns and operates the crossing and that Sprint has advised
them that they do not believe their crossing to be too "low", and in fact may have different
clearance requirements for their facilities. Deputy Prosecutor David Alvarez suggested that
Sprint be contacted and that a request be sent to the Public Works Department to find out if
there is a franchise agreement between Sprint and Jefferson County and if there are different
clearance requirements for their facilities. Sworn statements attesting to the height of the
extended bed of the truck at the time of the incident will also be requested from the witnesses
involved. It was agreed to table action on this claim pending further investigation.
