MINUTES
June 22, 2000
Prosecuting Attorney Juelie Dalzell and Risk Manager David Goldsmith met to discuss the following
claims for damages. Claims Coordinator Erin Lundgren was also present.
CLAIMS
CLAIMANT: David G. Myers
CLAIM#: C-14-00
DAMAGES: $731.77
ALLEGATION: Vehicle damage
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith reviewed the claim referenced above. He stated
that the claimant's vehicle was damaged after driving over freshly painted yellow
road striping which sprayed the side of the vehicle. The damages sustained were
the result of Action Services Corporation's performance as a contractor to
Jefferson County. Under the terms and conditions of the contract,Action Services
Corporation is solely responsible for any and all liabilities incurred while
performing the work subject to the contract.
DECISION: The Risk Manager and Prosecuting Attorney will recommend to the County
Administrator that the claim be denied.
CLAIMANT: U.S. West Communications
CLAIM#: C-15-00
DAMAGES: $259.17
ALLEGATION: Damage to buried service wire.
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith reviewed the claim referenced above. According to
the Public Works Department a private contractor working for the Jefferson
County PUD No. 1 was utilizing a backhoe installing/extending a waterline along
Highway 104 near the area where the damage occurred.
DECISION: The Risk Manager and Prosecuting Attorney will recommend to the County
Administrator that the claim be denied.
