Prosecuting Attorney Juelie Daizell and Risk Manager David Goldsmith discussed the following claim for
damages. Claims Coordinator Erin Lundgren was not present.
CLAIMS
CLAIMANT: Jeffrey J.Cronin
CLAIM NO: #C-6-99
DAMAGES: $1,500.00
ALLEGATION: Tree located on County property fell and damaged vehicle.
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith explained that this is the second claim resulting
from the incident involving the fallen tree in the parking lot of the multi-services
building off of Sheridan Street in Port Townsend. The building and parking lot are
County owned. He explained that the County had cut some of the trees down in the
parking lot and left others. This particular tree which had fallen,appeared weak at
the point where it broke off, indicating potential liability for the County.
Prosecuting Attorney Juelie Daizell agreed.
DECISION: Based on the evidence,the Risk Manager and Prosecuting Attorney agreed to
recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the claim be paid.
