for damages. Claims Coordinator Erin Lundgren was present.
CLAIMS
CLAIMANT: Brady Trucking Co.,Inc,
CLAIM NO: #C-5-99
DAMAGES: $1,428.59
ALLEGATION: Damage to drive line of chip truck when detoured onto steep county road(Egg& I
Road)
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith reviewed the details of the claim with Prosecuting
Attorney Juelie Daizell. Based on the facts Jefferson County has no liability.
Drivers were given the choice of two(2) alternate routes. The claimant made his
own choice on which route to travel.
DECISION: Based on the information the Risk Manager and Prosecuting Attorney agreed to
recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the claim be denied.
CLAIMANT: Puget Sound Energy
CLAIM NO: #C-7-99
DAMAGES: $374.64
ALLEGATION: Jefferson County Road Crew pulled down electrical service wire while spreading
gravel with dump truck. Damage to power lines.
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith, and Prosecuting Attorney Juelie Dalzell reviewed
the details of the claim. The Public Works Department recommends the claim be
paid based on the fact that they surveyed five(5)other counties in neighboring
jurisdictions regarding the requirements used in their respective county on power
line heights. All counties had adopted other agency standards, if they had any at all.
Since the accident was not investigated after it happened,it is believed that the
power lines were at the minimum required height which is three feet lower than the
raised bed of a dump truck.
DECISION: Based on the information provided the Risk Manager and Prosecuting Attorney
agreed to recommend to the Board of County Commissioners that the claim be paid.
