MINUTES
December 15, 1999
Prosecuting Attorney Juelie Dalzell and Risk Manager David Goldsmith met to discuss the following
claims for damages. Claims Coordinator Erin Lundgren and Assistant Claims Coordinator Leslie Locke
were also present.
CLAIMS
CLAIMANT: Al Scherich
CLAIM NO: #C-30-99
DAMAGES: $161.85
ALLEGATION: Vehicle damage
CLAIMANT: Kevin McGee
CLAIM NO: #C-31-99
DAMAGES: $200.00
ALLEGATION: Vehicle damage
CLAIMANT: Thomas J. Seavoy
CLAIM NO: #C-32-99
DAMAGES: $320.00
ALLEGATION: Vehicle damage
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith reviewed the three claims referenced above. He
stated that each claimant's vehicle was damaged after driving over freshly painted
yellow road striping which sprayed the side of the vehicles. The damages sustained
were the result of Action Services Corporation's performance as a contractor to
Jefferson County. Under the terms and conditions of the contract,Action Services
Corporation is solely responsible for any and all liabilities incurred while
performing the work subject to the contract.
DECISION: The Risk Manager and Prosecuting Attorney will recommended to the Board of
County Commissioners that the claims be denied.

CLAIMANT: Melanie Balch
CLAIM NO: #C-19-99
DAMAGES: $63,714.16
ALLEGATION: Physical Injury
DISCUSSION: Risk Manager David Goldsmith stated that the claimant has again failed to
cooperate with the claims adjuster hired by Jefferson County. Due to the lack of
response it is determined that the claimant has forfeited and abandoned this claim
for damages.
DECISION: The Risk Manager and Prosecuting Attorney recommend that the Board of County
Commissioners denial of this claim not be reconsidered at this time.
