A short recognition ceremony and photo op will be held. Analysis/Strategic Goals/Pro's Et Con's: The County can only deliver essential services to the Public through its dedicated employees. Jeff Ackerman has been an exemplary employee for the Roads department throughout his career. Like most employees in Roads he performs a wide variety of tasks; however, one of his primary rotes has been operating the County's brush cutter. Vegetation control is important in our region's growing environment in order to keep the roadsides clear, maintain sight distance, and promote traffic sign visibility. Jeff has developed an expert's touch with this equipment resulting in an attractively groomed roadside while avoiding the many obstacles along the way including wires, fences, landscaping, mailboxes, etc. He probably has more of the roadside memorized than anyone in the County. His experience has allowed him to train many others in the proper techniques which have undoubtedly saved wear and tear on the equipment. Fiscal Impact/Cost Benefit Analysis: N/A Recommendation: Please take this opportunity to recognize a dedicated employee, Jeff Ackerman, who is retiring after 38 years of service and wish him well in his new endeavors.
