MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (2018-1)
By and between
JEFFERSON COUNTY AND UFCW 21
A. Jefferson County (County) and UFCW 21 (Union) have entered into a Collective Bargaining
Agreement (CBA) through December 2020; and
B. Article 13 of the recently adopted CBA provides for the MONTHLY payment of Longevity
pay; and
C. UFCW 21 has advised the County that Bargaining Unit staff prefer an ANNUAL payment
pursuant to the expired CBA; and
D. The parties have discussed the issues and the County wishes to accommodate the desire of
Bargaining Unit employees regarding the annual not monthly payment of Longevity.
THEREFORE IT IS AGREED:
1. Section 13.1.3 shall be revised as follows:
13.1.3 Longevity Pay — Employee who have been in step l I for at least 12 months shall
upon completion of the following years of employment, the Employer shall pay, as an annual
longevity bonus, the amounts which follow to eligible Employees at the pay period which
follows their anniversary date or month of employment. Employees once eligible for
longevity shall be paidthl-y-the_tunip sum amount the month following their anniversary
month and should they terminate prior to their anniversary date a lump sum of the remaining
earned but unpaid longevity payment shall be included in the employee's final paycheck.
2. The remainder of the CBA remains unchanged by this MOA 2018-1
The foregoing being the agreement of the parties, each has signed and dated this agreement to
become binding on the signing party as of the date signed by the signatory.
