She became director a year ago and since then, many changes have happened with both JCF and UGN. Because the common mission of both entities is to improve the quality of life for all who live in Jefferson County, she thought it would be helpful for the Commissioners to get a sense of their current efforts and how we might be an asset to the work of the Commission. JL_ .,a ice'. 6�� 16-7 �- The UGN Love Story Over 3000 checks a year for a n average total of $280,000 76% under $100 From all over the County Annual Impacts 234 low-income elders and disabled adults receive help to stay in their homes. 88 young girls receive summer camp scholarships. 256 residents have access to primary health care. 289 families received heating, mortgage and rental assistance. UGN Recent Successes Past: High Overhead Today: Overhead less than 1/2 of what it was a year ago Past: Making Grant Awards before Money is Raised Today: All grants fully funded, only raised money will be I granted going forward UGN Campaign Future GIVE JEFFERSON Campaign Features Jefferson Community Foundation helping UGN manage the campaign. ALL nonprofits in Jefferson County were invited to submit proposals, not only traditional UGN/basic human needs organizations, over 60 proposals were submitted. A Community Outreach Team has undertaken site visits with all applicants to ensure that any money donated to them via the Campaign will be well -used and have impact For the month of October, an Online Giving Catalog will be available through which community members can donate directly to the nonprofits of their choice. All funding sent to UGN via mail and workplace campaigns will remain dedicated to basic service organizations, and UGN operations, as it has been for over 60 years.
