STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Dr. Borman will give a presentation on the work that he and fellow researchers do at the Olympic Natural
Resources Center, located in Forks, WA. The research done there informs work carried out in the Olympic
Experimental State Forest, which has a significant presence in western Jefferson County. Their findings
have the potential to affect policy-making at the local, state and federal level on economic and
environmental issues such as forest management, wildfire, climate change and timber harvest.
