Emma -
Thank you for working with Jefferson Transit Authority on the Outdoor Sign CUP application. this email is to
serve as additional information to complete the CUP Application. Thru are discussions I understand that this
email should serve to complete the application. This email contains a conversion from NITS to foot-candles for
the maximum brightness of the sign and an annual testing of the sign to insure that it is in conformance with the
current JCC sign code.
Please don't hesitate to let me know if I have forgotten or omitted something that we discussed.

Foot -Candle Conversion:
The sign is adjustable from 0 foot-candles to 418.1 foot-candles. The specifications previously provided
specified 4,500 nits. Conversion: 1 foot-candle = 10.764 nits.
Proposed Annual Testing:
JTA is proposing to conduct annual measuring of the sign brightness to insure that the operation of the sign
meets the current JCC sign code for foot-candle brightness. They will test the sign in July and send Jefferson
Co an email of the foot-candle measurement. This sign is adjustable from 0 to 418 foot-candles so we are
confident that the sign can be operated as needed to meet the code. If for some unforeseen reason the sign does
not meet the code, JTA will set the sign timer to turn the sign off between the hours of l Opm and 2am.
