SUBJECT: Agenda Item — Nominations for the Mental Health/Substance Abuse
Advisory Committee
STATEMENT OF ISSUE:
Jefferson County Public Health, as the fund manager of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse sales
tax treatment funds, is requesting Board approval for the following community members to serve on the
Mental Health, Substance Abuse Advisory Committee. Patricia Beathard as a School District representative,
Kaitlan Cosolito as a community member at large representative, Steve Workman from the Salish BHO
Advisory Board and Ariel Speser from the City Council.
ANALYSIS/STRATEGIC GOALS/PRO'S and CON'S:
The Mental Health/Substance Abuse Advisory Committee needs engaged community members who have a
passion and interest in the programs and services funded by the 1/10th of 1% fund.
FISCAL IMPACT/COST BENEFIT ANALYSIS:
Mental Health/Substance Abuse Advisory Committee members serve their community on a voluntary basis;
there is no fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
JCPH management requests approval of Patricia Beathard, Kaitlan Cosolito, Steve Workman and Ariel
Speser as members of the Mental Health, Substance Abuse Advisory Committee.
