Ruby Ranch is strategically located in Beaver Valley with some of the best farmland in Jefferson County. Ruby Ranch farmers will be working with Finnriver to explore growing apples, pears and other crops for our cider production, and our orchard manager is working with them on the possibility of grafting from the Finnriver Orchard stock onto their trees. Like other farmers in the region, the Ruby Ranch landowners are interested in permanently preserving their prime agricultural soils and protecting critical Chimacum Creek and open space habitat for many wildlife species. Preserving this strategically located farm can give Jefferson Land Trust and the Jefferson LandWorks Collaborative, which we are both a part of, the leg up in moving forward with farm preservation in Jefferson County. The farmland preservation efforts of Jefferson Land Trust have ensured our historic agricultural community will be able to carry on the legacy of farming on these fruitful soils for generations to come. Thank you for considering Jefferson Land Trust and its conservation easement grant request. Sincerely, Crystie Kisler Co-founder Finnriver
