Report: OlyCAP focus group: Maybe a panel isn’t in our best
interest because it’s isn’t a best practice with youth. Our new
name may suggest a limited audience. Discussion: Perhaps
we use categorical names that apply to specific groups when
work applies to: children, parents, tweens…. Maybe we want
to rethink the logo – student designed?
Report: Poverty Institute. Discussion: how might we be
poverty navigators, i.e. facilitate getting people needed aid.
Are there volunteers who could be trained to be navigators?
Knowing more deeply what it is to be in the cycle of poverty
and being able to find common ground to open pathways to
communication. Brian will check to see if it’s legal for school
personnel in WA state to direct parents to all aid they are
eligible for when they qualify for the reduced price lunch
program.
