HomeMy WebLinkAbout110518_cabs01JEFFERSON COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AGENDA REQUEST TO: Board of County Commissioners FROM: Philip Morley, County Administrator DATE: November 5, 2018 RE: Continued Review of Draft Revisions to Comprehensive Plan Update and Unified Development Code: Land Use Element, Environment Element and UDC Revisions STATEMENT OF ISSUE: Commissioners will continue their review of revisions made to the draft Comprehensive Plan Update, focusing on the Land Use element and Environment element of the Plan. Commissioners will also review an aligning revision proposed to the Unified Development Code regarding boundary line agreements. ANALYSIS: The Commissioners previously held a Public Hearing on June 4, 2018 on the Planning Commission's recommended Update to the County's Comprehensive Plan and amendments to the Unified Development Code. During their deliberations on the hearing record, the Board requested staff to make revisions to the Comp Plan for the Board's review and eventual adoption. As staff completes those revisions, the Board is reviewing them to ensure they reflect the Board's intent. On October 8, 15, 22 and 29, the Board reviewed revisions to the Plan Foundation; Vision Statement; Economic Development; Housing, Natural Resources; Environment; Transportation; Open Space, Parks and Recreation, Historic and Cultural Preservation; and Capital Facilities and Utilities elements of the Plan. On November 5, the Commissioners will continue their review of revisions, focusing on the Land Use element and Environment element of the Plan. Commissioners will also review the aligning revision in the Unified Development Code regarding boundary line agreements. Those elements (and all Comp Plan elements) and the proposed amendments to the Unified Development Code can be viewed on-line through the following link: Once the Board completes its review of their requested revisions and is satisfied with the Comp Plan Update and the revisions to the Unified Development Code, the Board will take final action to adopt the new Jefferson County Comprehensive Plan and amendments to the Unified Development Code at a later date. FISCAL IMPACT: None. RECOMMENDATION: Review revisions to the Land Use element and Environment element of the Comprehensive Plan Update, review the proposed amendments to the Unified Development Code, and give direction for any further revisions.
