BUDGET/PROGRAM:
State law mandates that delinquent taxes be handled in a specific manner. After three year full years of delinquency
on real property - one-year personal property, it is subject to foreclosure/distraint. Once paid the taxes are distributed
appropriately and fees covering the cost of foreclosure/distraint are paid the property is sold to the highest bidder.
Four months wages for the Foreclosure Deputy are paid by fees/costs borne by property owner.
GOALS FOR FY2015:
1. Manage the foreclosure/distraint process with .33 FTE (or four months time).
2. Maintain foreclosure/distraint properties <4% of total parcels
3. Continually improve collection by training and technology advances
OBJECTIVES FOR YEAR 2015
1. Have less than 30 real properties filed in court for foreclosure
2. Have less than 20 personal properties filed with court for distraint
3. Sell all properties in auction process to help maintain a healthy beginning balance

SUMMARY OF KEY FUNDING/SERVICE ISSUES:
Maintain revenue and expense balance. Collect fees covering four months wage to alleviate Treasurer’s budget in Current
Expense. Postage and the number of parcels in foreclosure continue to rise dramatically increasing our costs. Redeemed or
sold properties will not recover costs later in the year. Our goal is to restore our beginning balance in preparation of costs and
fees that occur prior to the final sale in December at which time we will recoup.
